What God Taught Me This Week

Set Your Face Like Flint…God has Already Gone before You.

This week, the Lord woke me up with Isaiah 50:4-9

“The Lord has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary…The Lord will help me; therefore, shall I not be confounded…I have set my face like flint.”

As I sat with those words for a moment, I realized something… This is not hype. This is not ego. This is comfort and assurance.

God was reminding me that He is the One who teaches my ear to hear before He uses my mouth to speak. He is the One who strengthens my backbone before opposition ever shows up.  He is the One who goes before me…so I never walk into a situation alone.

“The tongue of the learned,” means instructed… disciplined…. taught by God. Isaiah says, He wakens my ear morning by morning,” …that’s intimacy… alignment…You cannot speak strength into others if you have not first received strength from Him.

And maybe you need to hear that too. If you are weary…If you are misunderstood…. If you are facing criticism, or resistance… God is forming you…. and He has already gone before you.

Isaiah 50 does not promise that there won’t be oppositions.   It does not promise there won’t be shame.  It does not promise there won’t be accusations. But it does promises this: “The Lord will help me.”  That means You may be opposed…but you will not be undone.   You may be questioned…but you will not be condemned.  You may be tested…but you will not be abandoned.

When the Lord says He has given you a tongue to speak to the weary, that means He has already trained your ear.  When He says He will help you, that means the verdict is already settled in heaven.  Set your face like flint.  Be steady.  Be obedient…Be faithful and let the Lord use you for His Glory.

I have endured seasons where I felt pressed…. where words were spoken…. where misunderstandings happened…. where I had to choose not to turn back.  But here is what God is teaching me:  Real anointing does not fight to prove itself.  It stands.

If you are in a season of weariness, hear me clearly…God sees you and He will strengthen you and justify you.  Romans 8:33-34 reminds us. “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?  That means accusations don’t stick.  Criticism doesn’t define you and delay doesn’t disqualify you... And what tries to rise against you will fade like a garment eaten by moths.  Let me encourage you…. The Lord has already gone before you, setting every crooked path straight.

So, Walk boldly…not in arrogance…but in assurance.   Set your face like flint…Not in pride…. but in Peace…. God’s Peace that surpasses all understanding.
